Experience of using the microwave power for processing industrial and agricultural products

Abstract

Research on the interaction of microwave power with various substances, as well as the development of technologies for processing agricultural products and food-stuffs, has been carried out in Kharkov Technical University of Radio Electronics since long ago. Results on drying the apple mark, fruits, berries and vegetables, bird droppings have been obtained.

The patents on the method and microwave equipment have been acquired. The equipment is designed to manufacture a high-quality plaster. Final work on putting into operation an industrial microwave equipment to produce casein is carried out. Its output productivity is 1 ton per hour. It has been designed and assembled by the University employees.

The work is now under way towards automatization of industrial microwave equipment and automatic control of the quality of the manufactured product as well as on the provision and control of the safe level of the spurious radiation.
