Abstract

The new T-antenna is a common T-antenna with electromagnetically coupled dipoles (Fig. 1-2).

Fig.2

The new T-antenna has two frequency bands. In the low frequency band the total length of the post and the dipole half length is one-quarter wavelength. In the high frequency band a halfwave dipole works.

A piecewise sinusoidal expansion is used for the current distribution. Using the induced electromotive force method, the mutual impedance between all antenna elements, real dipoles as well as their images, have been calculated. By solving the complex matrix equation, the unknown complex currents induced in the elements of the antenna are determined.

The total field is found by superposition of the fields radiated from the physically existing sources.

The antenna input impedance, the input standing wave ratio, the gain, the electric components E? and Eφ in the vertical and horizontal planes have been computed.

The new T-antenna may be used as a dual frequency antenna and an antenna of dual polarization.
