Total analysis of radiation characteristics of electric dipole with rectangular screen

Abstract
On the basis of the uniform geometric diffraction theory method, an asymptotic solution is obtained for the 3D radiation problem of an arbitrarily oriented electric dipole placed near an infinitely thin perfectly conducting rectangular screen. The radiation patterns and the back-to-front ratio, the radiation resistance and the directive gains of the radiating system have been calculated and analyzed depending on the dipole orientation, its dislocation and distance from the screen, and the screen dimensions. We prove the possibility of optimizing radiation characteristics by choosing the dipole orientation, the screen optimal dimensions and sides ratio. Circularly polarized radiation may be produced in the main observation planes.
