Abstract

The use of microwaves to measure conditions of various processes seems to be highly attractive, however the microwave (SHF) methods are still used rarely. The reasons are as follows: a higher cost of microwave system components (e.g. in comparison with LF equipment), and an optics-like (i.e. extremely high) standard of system adjustment. The same is true for the most precise microwave method of material parameters monitoring — a resonator method. To control fluids one has to apply thin tubes putting them inside the resonator, and it is often unacceptable for commercial installations.
