Abstract

Plenty of antenna and feeder parameters measurement method are turned into measurement of reflectivity and transfer factor. The application of a six-port analyzer is perspective to solve this problem in K-band. Traditionally the circuits of vector analyzers are designed with the use of elements well-matched in the whole bandwidth, in particular of 90°- and 180°-hybrids. Envisaged calibration calls for application of a number of standard loads. This circumstance requires to use precise elements.

Unlike the traditional approaches, the six-port analyzer based on E-plane cross junction of standard rectangular waveguides has been developed by us [1]. This device divides the input power into four approximately equal parts. Simultaneously, it serves for summation of the researched signal with three reference signals obtained by dividing the input signal. The principle of holography with three reference signals [2] is realized in our six-port analyzer as well as in others. Hence, the system of two linear equations similar to one which is usually obtained as realization of the specified kind of holographic record can be designed instead of the system of square equations. The comparative analysis of the most stable variant of the square equation solution (the method of radical center [3]) and considered approach is the subject of the given investigation.
