Research of the properties of curvilinear thin-wire radiators (helical antennas)

Abstract

The report presents the results of investigations of electromagnetic properties of a cylindrical spiral antenna. The general methods of calculation and analysis of thin-wire curvilinear radiators based on generalized method of induced electromotive force and three-dimensional visualization of the results are developed. Potential directional, polarization and frequency properties of a cylindrical spiral antenna are identified. A method of antenna local phase center calculation is also proposed and variation of its location as a function of the observation point coordinates, as well as frequency of excitation is examined.
