Abstract

It is shown that if the distance between the elements of equidistant arrays of near-omnidirectional radiators is increased from 0.5 to one wavelength, it is possible to increase the directivity Dand to reduce the width of the main lobes of the pattern of an antenna array in comparison with the same characteristics of a continuous antenna at a comprehensible level of side lobes. The studied effects can be increased by arranging the radiators above the screen at a height greater than a quarter of the wavelength.
