Abstract

Special law of exciting currents' amplitudes distribution is proposed in the paper. It is shown that tapered antenna array with elements excited in accordance to the proposed law can form the directional pattern that is close to one formed by antenna array with equally spaced elements within a limited angular sector. An algorithm that allows to form any desired equivalent amplitude distribution in the equivalent aperture of tapered antenna array is presented as well.
