A method of synthesis three-port 3-dB power divider taking into account discontinuities effect

In this article design method for three-port 3-dB power dividers have been derived. This method is available for symmetric power divider which split a signal into 2-equiphase-equiamplitude signals. The isolation circuit of such divider consists of two transmission line pieces and resistance between them. The power divider design procedure which provides matching and outputs isolation was derived with conventional even- and odd-mode method and impedance transformation method. An equivalent circuits of branch lines discontinuities were included in general network of divider which enables to define the electrical parameters with discontinuities effect compensation.
