Abstract

A mode matching technique, that takes into account field singularities at the edges, an integral equation method and a generalized scattering matrix method were applied for the development of a mathematical model of double ridged horns with a rectangular aperture. During the modeling, the horn structure, which is inhomogeneous in the longitudinal direction, has been decomposed to the homogeneous H- and rectangular waveguides. We present the design of an ultra wideband doubled ridged horn with rectangular aperture, developed for the 1-10 GHz frequency band, and the results of its experimental investigation.
