Solution of a wide class of problems concerning propagation of electromagnetic waves (EMW's) in non-homogeneous dissipative media by analytical methods of diffraction theory is practically impossible. Use of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) numerical method, that finds a wide application in recent years due to rapid evolution of computer techniques, is appropriate. This method has already presented itself in a good light for the solution of quite a number of electrodynamic problems.Published
