Abstract

It has been proved [1], that by means of optimum choosing sizes of rectangular form screen it is possible to improve sufficiently the directivity characteristics of vibrator and microstrip antennas: to increase the directive gain, to reduce the width of the main lobe and the levels of side- and back- lobes of the directive pattern (DP), to increase the Back-to-Front Ratio of the antenna. These effects are explained by interference of electromagnetic waves radiated by the dipole and scattered by the screen. Theoretical analysis of these phenomena is convenient to carry out with the uniform geometrical diffraction theory (GTD) method, vecause it provides exceptionally simple calculation realization compared to the Integral Equation Formulation (IEF) [2, 3]. In the present article the GTD method is used for solving radiation problem of dipole, arbitrary tilted to the screen.
